Which lane is Cash Toll Lane (Not FASTag) on NHAI Toll Plaza (No Penalty Lane)

In the Press Release a PIB New Delhi, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that NETC program is going to continue with a greater pace. The people are in need to free as soon as from TOLL-PLAZA. The system is designed by NPCI & NHAI of Prepaid TAG (FASTag) is increasing day by day. The people should come forward and use FASTag on their Vehicle.

To boost the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC), Nitin Gadkari has announced that from 22 Nov to 1 December 2019, the FASTag will be free of cost. You don’t have to pay Rs 150/ -which was paid as Security Charges. This amount will be borne by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Is it Mandatory to have FASTag? After 1 Dec 2019.
Answer: No, it is not compulsory to have a FASTag Prepaid Tag on your Vehicle. But, in case you don’t have the FASTag then you have to choose only from LANE which is not FASTag enabled. (or HYBRID – Cash + FASTag).

The person going in FASTag Lane (also known as FASTag lane of the Fee Plaza) and not having FASTag has to pay dobule Toll charges. As per the rules.

In order to promote seamless movement and to decongest the fee plazas and for promoting digital payments, Government has decided that all the lanes in the National Highway fee plazas shall be declared as ‘FASTag lane of the Fee Plaza’ by 1st of December 2019 except one lane on either side which shall be kept as Hybrid lane.

CASH TOLL LANE – No FASTag or Penalty (Hybrid Lane)

To be very clear, if you don’t possess FASTag till now, then you should have prior knowledge of “Which is Cash Lane” or Hybrid Lane (Cash + FASTag) as per the NHAI Rules.

Here, we are providing the details of “CASH TOLL LANE” or its a HYBRID LANE which can be used either by FASTag or CASH Toll payments.

The person not having the FASTag and entering in “CASH LANE/ HYBRID LANE” will not have to pay double toll (Just they need to pay their regular roll price).

One lane on either side which shall be kept as Hybrid lane (can be used to pay toll in CASH)

What is Hybrid Lane in NHAI?

The Hybrid Lane at the Toll Plaza is lane on which the Payment of Toll can be paid by using FASTag (Prepaid) or by Cash amount. Only one hybrid lane will be there from 1 Dec 2019 on each side of Toll Plaze. The person using the CASH as toll-payment can use Hybrid Lane (with no penalty charges).

Get Free – FASTag till 1 Dec 2019

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will provide FASTags free of cost till 1 December 2019. The point of sale (POS) / Shops are available at the Toll Plaza. You can visit the Toll Plaza and get the Document Verify to get FASTag Free of Cost.

Also, Indian Petrol Pump, IOCL Petrol Pump station has been given the FASTag. You can ask the nearest Petrol Pump for that. The security deposit of Rs. 150 will be borne by NHAI. Gadkari said this would approximately cost the government Rs 150-200 crore.
