In the year 2020, total 121617 candidates have appeared in NEET-UG 2020. Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu is going to conduct state counselling for 85% quota in MBBS and BDS seats for the candidate domicile of Tamil Nadu only.
NTA has announced NEET-UG Score card on 16 Oct 2020 – The students from Tamilnadu can check State Rank/ Merit List – Fill Round-1 Counselling for MBBS/ BDS Course – Fee, Document, Reporting.

TN NEET 2020 Counselling
The selection will be made on merit basis and by counselling applying the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Most of colleges are affiliated under Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai.
The counselling is likely to begin in the third week of July after the Centre completes counselling for seats in the all India quota. This year, for the first time, the state will conduct counselling for 24 government medical colleges as well as an almost equal number of seats in self-financing colleges and deemed universities.

Within 30% reservation for Backward Classes 3.5% will be provided for Muslims and 16% of seats out of the 18% quota earmarked to Scheduled Caste, shall be allocated to the Arunthathiyar Community. Tamilnadu State MBBS BDS admission 2020 BC, BCM, MBC/ DNC, SC, SCA, ST candidates are eligible for Selection under Open Competition as per merit in addition to the reservation made for those categories.

Counselling MBBS/ BDS Admission 2020
- The Merit list is prepared by Central Board using Scorecard of NEET UG Entrance Test 2020.
- The counseling will be conducted based upon the Rank obtained in NEET-2020
- In case of same rank being obtained by more than one candidate, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in the qualifying examination shall be reckoned. In
- In case of a further tie, the older candidate shall be given the higher place in the merit list.
