In the Union Budget 2019, निर्मला सीतारमण announced big changes in the Rail Budget 2019. In the coming 11 years (2019 to 2030) total of 50 Lakh Crore Funds will be spent on the Indian Railways under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) to build new infrastructure, amenities, electrification of all stations, security, new train routes, etc. Apart from this, a new Scheme called “Adarsh Kiraya Yojana” is launched and will function from 1st September 2019 onwards.

The Ministry of Railways will be implementing “Adarsh Kiraya Yojana” to ensure that the Train Tickets fare should not rise due to infrastructure building etc. The train covers approx 70% of daily transportation in India. The hiking train ticket will affect common/ poor people. In such scenarios, Govt has proposed “Adarsh Kiraya Yojana” so that any person can voluntarily give away the subsidized ticket and pay full fare. This will contribute and fund Indian Railway more.
Benefits
People willingly giving away the subsidized train ticket will get appreciation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi similar way that of LPG Subsidy. Also, you will contribute to built $5trillion economy.
Fee/ Charges
There will be no extra charge or fee to be paid by the customer. You just need to give away your train ticket subsidized fare. Paying full fare only.
Registration Process
To be part/ enroll for the Adarsh Kiraya Yojana, the person has to book ticket from online (IRCTC or any supported App), offline from station ticket couter and choose/ ask to giveaway subsidized ticket. There is no online registration website or form.
Validity
You can enroll for all your travel or just for one ticket. Its depend on the person. So, the validity of Adarsh Kiraya Yojana is as long as user need. You can default choose to be book ticket under the Adarsh Kiraya Yojana.
