In the Modi 2.0 Government, the new ministry “JAL SHAKTI” was formed to look after the major challenge to be faced by living beings in the future which is “WATER SCARCITY”. As per the survey, in Indian by 2021 a total of 21 Cities including Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Chennai (already facing challenges in 2019), Mumbai, Jodhpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, etc. will be facing groundwater issue.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mann Ki Baat episode of 30th June 2019 states that every citizen on India has to take responsibility to save water. Also, the New Abhiyan was launched by Central Govt. i.e. “Jal Shakti Abhiyaan“. The Jal Shakti Ministry and Dept of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) has launched a new portal where People can share their views on how to save water.

Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and in view of the challenge of water scarcity and the need for focused water conservation measures this summer and monsoon season, the Government of India is launching the Jal Shakti Abhiyaan (JSA), an intensive water conservation campaign built on citizen participation, with an aim to generate a people’s movement to accelerate water conservation across the country.

The JSA will run in two Phases: Phase 1 from 1st July to 15th September 2019 for all States and Union Territories; and Phase 2 from 1st October to 30th November for States and UTs receiving the retreating monsoon (Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu).

During the campaign, officers, groundwater experts and scientists from the Government of India will work together with State and district officials in India’s most water-stressed districts for water conservation and water resource management by focusing on accelerated implementation of five target intervention. The JSA aims at making water conservation a jan Andolan through asset creation and communication campaign.

The official Mobile App of “Jal Shakti Abhiyaan” is launched for the Androdi and iOS Smartphone. You can download .APK Jal Skahti App and particiapte in the PM Modi Vision of Harvest Water.

  1. Download the Mobile App from ‘Google play store’ or ‘Jal Shakti Portal’
  2. Enter your registered mobile number and click ‘Sign in’.
  3. Enter the one time password (OTP) received on your registered mobile no. and click on ‘verify OTP’.
  4. A profile screen with relevant details will open after verification of OTP. On the profile screen please click on ‘Capture activity’ to initiate the site visit feedback and photographs.
  5. Fill in the details and take geotagged photographs.
  6. Provide general feedback or activity wise feedback through the side menu drop down screen and click on submit.
