The students were demanding to Postpone KCET 2020 Exam but the Karnataka High Court refused to postpone exam dates. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will be conducting KCET 2020 on 30-07-2020 & 31-07-2020 for admission to First year or First-semester Engineering, Technology (B.Tech), Yoga & Naturopathy, Farm Science courses and B.Pharm & Pharm-D courses.

KCET 2020 Cut-Off / Merit List

Below is the Criteria to determine the RANK and MERIT LIST for Karnataka CET 2020. Verification of documents will be done in all the Districts helpline centres after the declaration of results/ publication of merit list.

As per the seat matrix issued by the Government, the seat allotment to the above-mentioned courses will be done ONLINE by obtaining OPTIONS from the eligible candidates in the order of merit/ rank obtained in 2020 CET / NEET / NATA as applicable, and based on the options given by the candidates.

DETERMINATION OF KCET MERIT

The merits of the candidates who appear for the Common Entrance Test-2020 will be determined are detailed below:

Based on the performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects in both Common Entrance Test and the Qualifying Examination by taking the marks in equal proportions, common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to these courses.
4 Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V. Sc. & A.H.) On the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects taken together in the Common Entrance Test – 2020. The B.V.Sc & A.H. rank list will be prepared and published for admission to B. V.Sc. & A.H. courses.
5 B-Pharm On the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e., PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest in Common Entrance Test 2020. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to B-Pharm.
6 2nd Year B. Pharm On the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e., PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest in the Common Entrance Test 2020. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to 2nd Year B-Pharm (Lateral Entry)
7 Pharm-D On the basis of performance of the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e., PCB or PCM marks whichever is highest in the Common Entrance Test 2020. Common rank list will be prepared and published separately for admission to Pharm-D.
8. Naturopathy & Yoga By taking marks in equal proportions in QE and CET in PCB subjects.

Document Verification KCET 2020

Verification of documents will be done in all the Districts helpline centres after the declaration of results/publication of merit list. Only upon verification of documents and issue of verification slip, candidate will be allowed to enter the options. Candidates can enter any number of options of their choice on their own arrangement. The candidate also has a provision to take a print out in each round. Every candidate shall be given a high security user ID and Secret Key which the candidate then has to login and change it to the password as per his / her choice.

29 July 2020 KCET 2020 Postponed or Not High Court Decision Today

The Karnataka High Court on 28 July 2020 said that the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) should reconsider the dates to conduct KCET 2020 and place its final decision today. Due to Coronavirus Lockdown (Curfew) in various district in Karnataka and COVID-19 spreading, Student asking to Postpone.

Today (29 July 2020) Final Verdict/ Decision on KCET 2020 Exam Date will be announced by Karnataka High Court (KHC) the students have said public transport is not allowed in 5,000 containment areas of Karnataka, for which the court had asked the KEA to reconsider the dates to conduct the exam and place its decision before it on Wednesday.

KCET Exam Postponed – New Exam Date

The MHRD Minister & NTA has already cancelled NEET-UG, JEE Main due to the COVID-19 cases increasing day by day. At that time, the COVID-19 cases were 15k-18K per day but now the cases are approx 50K per day. The students, parents and even the teachers are worried about the Coronavirus.

The three PIL has been filed at Karnataka High Court to Postpone KCET 2020 Examination.

First PIL:  National Students Union of India (NSUI), Kanataka
Second PIL by: Pradeep Kumar SP and S Hanumanthegowda.
Third PIL: Adv AM Khan

In both Public Interest Litigations (PIL) seeking KCET 2020 to postponed amid COVID-19 pandemic.

At Present the KCET Exam is scheduled on 30th and 31st July 2020.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted by KEA Karnataka Examinations Authority is governed by the Governing Council headed by the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, GOK.

On 30 March, KEA announced that due to COVID-19 & Coronavirus Lockdown, the KCET Exam is postponed indefinitely. But on 13 May, the new Exam Date of KCET has announced it was 30 July and 31 July 2020.

Instructions to Covid-19 Positive candidates willing to appear for KCET 2020 exam

  • Candidate shall compulsorily register in the KEA portal and inform the concerned DDPUs of their respective Districts.
  • Candidate shall inform regarding COVID-19 status to the examination authorities well in advance to make necessary special arrangements.
  • Candidate shall produce a medical certificate from their treating physician certifying that they are fit to write the examinations.
  • The candidate shall provide ‘ risk consent’ for taking up the examination.
  • Candidate shall be transported to the exclusively designated examination centre (COVID care centre) by ambulances.
  • Candidates shall wear IM-95 face mask & hand gloves compulsorily at all times.
  • Candidates shall use hand sanitizer whenever required.

The possibility is that these exams may get further postponed to around 3rd Week August. Everything depends on #Covid19 situation in coming months
