What is HSSC “Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience” 10 Marks

Haryana Staff Selection Commission Panchkula is an independent body to conduct/ organized and publish the merit list of vacancies issued under the Haryana SSC. In June 2019, HSSC has announced Advt 6/ 2019 for GD Constable and Sub-Inspector, Advt 7/ 2019 for Patwari, and Advt 8/ 2019 for Canal Patwari vacancies. Now, In the selection process section of notification, the candidate must have got “10 Marks for Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience“. This is a new parameter that Govt. of Haryana has introduced in the Recruitment Process. Let’s check what actually SEC and Experience means.

Haryana HSSC “Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience”

On 25 August 2018, this scheme was first introduced on the Group-D post. The notification was released that with total 100 marks in the selection, 90 marks will be for written test and 10 marks is awarded on the basis of “Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience“.

In order to implement a new scheme, various certificate(s) shall be required to be obtained by potential candidates to avail the 10 marks of socio-economic criteria and experience. Therefore, the following regulatory mechanism is hereby prescribed for seeking the said certificate:

Important Points about Socio-Economic Criteria & Experience are:

The marks for socio-economic criteria and experience shall be allocated as follows

Situation/ Condition Marks
if neither the applicant nor any person from among the applicant’s family i.e. father, mother, spouse, brother, and Son is, was or has been a regular employee in any Department/Board/ Corporation/ Company/ Statutory Body/ Commission/Authority of Government of Haryana or any other State Government or Government of India. 5 Marks
if the applicant is:

  • a widow; or
  • the first or the second child and his father had died before attaining the age of 42 years: or
  • the first or the second child and his father had died before the applicant had attained the age of 15 years,”. 
5 Marks
If the applicant belongs to such a denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis) or Nomadic tribe of the State of Haryana which is neither a Scheduled Caste nor a Backward Class. 5 Marks
Experience: half marks (1/2) mark for each year or part thereof exceeding six months of
experience, out of a maximum of sixteen years, on the same or a higher post in any Department/ Board/ Corporation/ Company/ Statutory Body/ Commission/ Authority of Government of Haryana. No marks shall be awarded for any period less than six months.
Maximum Marks: 8

Note: No applicant shall be given more than 10 marks for socio-economic criteria and experience under any circumstances.

Also, Note that The candidate willing to get benefits under the “Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience” has to fill and upload a certificate at the time of filling online application otherwise you are not eligible to get the benefit of this scheme.

If a person is already working in central govt. in level 7, will he be still eligible for 5 marks given to orphan certificate if all other conditions are satisfied. Please reply
