COVID-19 (RBI Lokpal) RBI Loan EMI, Credit Card Moratorium Grievance Cell Online Complaint



RBI Loan EMI Complaint April 2020: Reserve Bank of India has announced “COVID-19 Relief Package” to all Loan EMI, Credit Card due for 3 Months Moratorium. All Banks i.e. SBI, HDFC, Axis Bank, Kotak, PNB, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI, Bank of Baroda and NBFC (Cashbean, KreditBee etc) has to follow and given 3 Months Loan EMI Defer.

In the Lockdown period due to the Corona Virus (COVID-19), PM Modi has announced 21 days Lockdown from 25 March to 14 April 2020. Now, As the Corona Cases are coming more and more, the lockdown has been extended till 3 May 2020.

On 27th March 2020, RBI announced that Loan Borrower can OPT for 3 Months Moratorium (1 March to 31 May 2020) for Loan EMI (Installments), also Credit Cardholder will be given 3 months extra time to pay their dues.




Most of the Banks issued general FAQ and Moratorium Terms and Condition in the first week of April 2020. But then also, Account Holders are facing issue.

Loan EMI Refund Request/ Stop EMI Status

In the Guidelines issued by RBI RBI/2019-20/186 on 27th March 2020, the BANK has to give Moratorium to laon borrowers who are facing financial problems. As the circular was issued on 27th March, so most of the EMI was deducted by that time. (in 1st and 2nd week of March).

Now, Customers are demanding a refund as they have already Opted for Moratorium. Some banks are allowing and Refund but other has rejected.




RBI Moratorium Complaint April/ May 2020 – Register Online

In case, your BANK has deducted EMI even if you have opt for Moratorium, You can register online complaints with the Reserve Bank of India. Also, if Bank has rejected your request to Refund of March/ April 2020 EMI. Then you have to register online Complaint at RBI Grievance Cell.

RBI Lokpal Coronavirus Loan EMI/ Refund

RBI Banking Lokpal Rules (COVID-19)

In case, you are not satisfied with the Bank Reply or the Bank is not refunding money, EMI is deducted. You need to know the RBI COVID-19 Lokpal Bill. RBI Ombudsman Scheme is for helping customer-facing difficulty with Banking Services.

  • Has made a written representation to the Bank who had rejected the complaint OR
  • The complainant had not received any reply within a period of one month after the Bank received her/his representation OR
  • The complainant is not satisfied with the reply given to her/him by the Bank. OR
  •  The complaint is made not later than one year after the complainant has received the reply of the Banks to her/ his representation or, where no reply is received, not later than one year and one month after the date of the representation to the Bank.

✅ Loan EMI is deducted by Bank during Moratorium. Where to complain?

As per the RBI, all bank has to follow guidelines. So, If your Loan EMI is deducted. You can simply email the Bank Customer Service. In case, you don’t get or satisfy with the reply in 30 days. Just register a complaint against Bank to RBI.
