Qualifying Score NEET 2020

National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET-UG Medical Entrance Exam result on 16 October 2020 (Tentative). Below is the cut-off cum qualifying marks for OBC/ SC/ ST, UR, PH category. Please check your marks range and percentile required.

Merit List/ All India Rank

NTA is going to issue ALL INDIA RANK cum MERIT LIST based on NEET 2020 entrance exam performance. Top 15% MERIT List are eligible for National Level Counselling in MBBS/ BDS colleges and rest 85% candidate are given All India Rank, so that they can appear in State Wise Counselling NEET-UG 2020.

Merit List for Counselling under 15% All India Quota

NTA is going to prepare merit list who have opted for 15% All India quota seats will be prepared by the NTA on the basis of score obtained in the NEET (UG) – 2020.

The merit list will be equal to the number of seats available for admission in MBBS/BDS colleges under 15% All India Quota. There shall also be a waiting list equal to 4 times of the merit list or so if required by DGHS.

After the NEET 2020 result is declared, these merit list is forwarded to Director General of Health Services for All India Counselling of 15% seat quota.

Merit List for seats other than 15% All India Quota

(a) NTA is going to prepare NEET 2020 AIR (All India Rank).

(b) The DGHS is going to forward these AIR candidate list to State Wise Admitting Authorities.

(c) Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their applicable rules.

State Wise Eligibility for 85% Seat Quota

All the states participating in the NEET 2020 will fill their 85% seats of MBBS/BDS Dental through state counselling, while the remaining 15% of the seats will be filled through All India centralized counselling. The eligibility for the 85% quota seats of the states are mentioned below:

  • Candidates must have completed/appearing his/her 10th and 12th from the state.
  • Candidate must possess a valid domicile of the state.
  • Candidate should possess a residency proof of the state.

15% All India Quota NEET-UG 2020

  • The candidate must have obtained MERIT LIST in top 15% seats in NEET-UG 2020, 4 times waiting list is also prepared.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India or Overseas citizen.
  • The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years (5 years relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidates) as on or before 31st December of the year of Admission.
  •  The candidates from J & K (now known as UTs of J & K and Ladakh) are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats.

The candidate must score a minimum of 50% marks in NEET-UG 2020 score. The admission to MBBS/BDS courses 2020 is based on the minimum of marks at 50th percentile in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. There is a reservation for EWS, SC/ ST & OBC candidate, the candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes must score a minimum of 40th percentile for eligible in NEET or AIPMT 2020 Competition. The General candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile.

What is Percentile NEET 2020

The Medical/ Dental AIPMT cum NEET 2020 percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All-India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses’.

Reservation of Seats (OBC/ SC/ ST & Open)

An All India merit list and State wise merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the already existing Reservation Policies. All admission to MBBS/BDS courses within in the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.

RESERVATION OF SEATS IN GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGES UNDER 15% ALL INDIA QUOTA:

(a) 10% GeneralEconomically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS),
(b) 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
(c) 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
(d) 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Educational Institutions only as per Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 10.04.2008. Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column in the application form. Candidates from creamy layer and do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as General.
(d) 3% seats are reserved on the horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates (only for locomotory disabilities of lower limbs between 50% to 70%, provided that in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before they are included in the seats of respective category) in 15% All India UG quota seat. Detailed information in this regard is available on the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare – www.mohfw.nic.in Candidates who considered themselves eligible for this category are advised to ensure their eligibility by getting themselves examined at any Government Medical College/District Hospital/Government Hospital. However, candidates may kindly note that in case of selection under PH category, they will be required to produce Disability Certificate from one of the disability assessment boards, constituted at the four metro cities, mentioned below, before their schedule date of counselling:

Reservation will be made as per 2200 point reservation roster. The mode of implementation of reservation will be available on DGHS website-www.mohfw.nic.in.

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2020 was held on 7 May 2020 for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, the Central Government in consultation with Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

The candidate failed to score minimum qualification marks are not eligible to get admission in MBBS or BDS Colleges & Universities in India.

According to the experts, this years cut-off for admission in MBBS/ BDS is going to be slightly low, 10-15 marks. Approx 360 is lowest marks for GENERAL-360 marks, UR-PH (460 marks high and 216 marks)
